Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Snow 1050W PSU Review
Conclusion
Solid efficiency, great ripple performance
There’s a lot to like about the Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 1050W. It’s affordable, its white option has no pricing premium, and the PSU delivers strong voltage ripple results. At £129.99, it is a solid buy. It’s certainly a PSU that is worth putting on your shortlist, especially if you want a white PSU.
Noise-wise, this PSU is quiet. We couldn’t hear this PSU during testing because there was always something louder in our office. Since we tune our PCs to be quiet, this PSU must be quiet too. That claim is backed up with its Cybenetics A-level noise rating.
Since this PSU is just 140mm long, the shortest length that the ATX standard allows, users should have no issues integrating this PSU into any modern system. 1050W is a lot of power for his compact form factor. Certainly more than enough for almost all gaming systems.
The annoying thing, for a reviewer, about good PSUs is that there isn’t much to say when they’re good. If something is bad, that’s something to talk about. If something is excellent, you can talk about why. The Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 1050W is a good power supply. It’s efficient, and it has strong ripple performance. It represents good value at its current price point, as sacrifices can often be made as you move toward the budget end of the PSU spectrum.
This PSU is deserving of our value for money award. It’s a strong performer and reasonably priced. There’s not much more to say. If you’re getting ready to build a new PC, this PSU is worth adding to your components shortlist.
