CPU Performance – Did Ubisoft Fix Assassin’s Creed’s CPU issues?

To create Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft partnered with AMD to help the company to optimise their game for PC. Specifically, Ubisoft wanted to address the CPU challenges which players of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins faced, forcing Ubisoft to adopt DirectX 12 and to invest in some major engine changes.

Did these changes fix Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’s PC version. Yes, yes they did! On our test system, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is completely GPU-limited, even at 1080p High settings on a quad-core processor.

This is great news for Ubisoft, as this allows PC gamers to benefit from the fullest potential of their graphics cards. That said, Valhalla places a lot more strain on graphics cards than Odyssey.

If you have a strong quad-core or better, your system should run Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with little trouble.
