Crysis Remastered Update 1.2.0 Tested - Is it Faster?

CPU Optimisation – Does Crysis Remastered run better?

When replaying Crysis Remastered with patch 1.2.0, the first thing that we will note is that the game’s stuttering issues when Ray Tracing is enabled has been largely eliminated, making the game a much smoother experience. This alone has a huge impact on Crysis Remastered’s playability with Ray Tracing enabled.

Below we have test results which mostly compares Crysis Remastered’s High settings with several noted alterations at 1080p. We have also included our 1080p data from our “Can it Run Crysis?” benchmark runs.

Thanks to patch 1.2.0 for Crysis Remastered, we can see notable performance boosts in most situations, especially when the game’s Vegetations settings are set to medium and when Ray Tracing is enabled. Crysis Remastereds higher 1st and 5th percentile framerates allow the game to feel much smoother during gameplay.

Despite these improvements, Crysis Remastered remains largely CPU-limited. That said, the game now runs much smoother and with higher average framerates in most CPU-limited scenarios. If future patches deliver more CPU performance optimisations to Crysis Remastered, PC gamers should expect constant 60 FPS framerates to become much more achievable.
