Prey PC Performance Revisited – Patch 1.02 – Lower Framerates?

Prey PC performance Revisited - Patch 1.02 - Lower framerates?

1440p Performance

At 1440p we continue to see that this patch has a huge impact on game performance, with the GTX 1080 losing almost 15FPS on its average framerate.  Again we see the AMD R9 Fury X outperform Nvidia’s GTX 1060, changing the order of our performance graph once again.

We can see that all GPUs are affected by this patch, having a noteworthy impact on game performance on all GPUs except the AMD R9 Fury X, which now offers performance that is similar to Nvidia’s GTX 980 Ti.

The biggest loss here is clearly for the GTX 1060, which no longer achieves a steady 60 FPS in our performance test. This means that gamers will now need to lower the game’s graphical settings for steady 1440p 60FPS gameplay.
