Red Dead Redemption PC Performance Review

DLSS and FSR

DLSS and FSR – It Just Works!

Unlike Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, DLSS and FSR work as intended in Red Dead Redemption. For Nvidia RTX 40 series users, DLSS Frame Generation is also available to utilise. That said, the game runs well enough on any modern GPU to not require frame generation to play at high framerates.

Below, we can see that Nvidia’s RTX 2060 from 2019 is good enough to run this game at 4K 60+ FPS when using DLSS. It may not be native 4K, but upscaled “Faux-K” still looks great.

Similarly, AMD’s RX 6600 can deliver a 4K 60 FPS experience in Red Dead Redemption when FSR 3 is enabled. Note that this game doesn’t support FSR 3 Frame Generation. This is a strange omission, though AMD users do have their driver-level Fluid Motion Frames tech to use as an alternative.

Overall, Red Dead Redemption appears to run faster on Nvidia GPUs. That said, any modern GPU will be able to run this game with ease.
