1440p Performance – Benchmark Results

Moving up to 1440p, we can see the need for high-performance graphics cards like the GTX 1080 Ti and Nvidia’s upcoming RTX series,  with even the GTX 1080 achieving sub-60FPS gameplay at 1440p. It is worth noting here that moving to the game’s High settings will result in 60+ FPS most of the time on Nvidia’s GTX 1080 and AMD’s RX Vega 56.

As for the RX 580 and GTX 1060, both graphics cards stay well below 60FPS, with the RX 580 breaking below 30FPS minimum. Both graphics cards at High settings will offer decent performance levels if you can stand 30-60FPS unlocked framerates, but both GPUs could also be locked to 30 to provide a console-like high-resolution gaming experience.

Moving up to Nvidia’s new RTX series of graphics cards, we can see that both the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti are able to offer framerates of over 60FPS at 1440p when playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider under the game’s highest preset.
