Stray PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

4K Performance

4K is the only resolution that posed a real challenge for most of our tested graphics cards, with Nvidia’s RTX 3060 Ti and AMD’s RX 6800 and higher achieving average framerates of over 60 FPS. For the RTX 3070 Ti, even its 1st percentile framerates are over 60 FPS.

For higher-end graphics card from AMD and Nvidia, framerates far above 60 FPS should be achievable, which is good news for owners of 4K 120Hz VRR TVs or monitors. Beyond that, setting graphics options like Effects to Medium can push GPUs like the GTX 1080 Ti to average framerates of over 60 FPS.

If Stray had FSR 2.0 or DLSS 2.0, it could even be possible for high-end GPU users to target resolutions like 5K or 8K, which would be great news for anyone that owns one of those ultra-premium screens. Who doesn’t want to play as a cat at a super crazy resolution? Just me?
