The Last of Us Part 1 now uses a lot less VRAM on PC

Patch 1.0.1.5 for The Last of Us Part 1 promised players lower VRAM utilisation thanks to a decrease in the game’s PSO cache size. This change was made to The Last of Us Part 1 to make the game more playable on PCs with less than 12GB of VRAM.

Below we can see what The Last of Us Part 1’s VRAM utilisation was like on day-1 with our 24GB Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming, and how much VRAM the game uses with patch 1.0.2.0. As you can see, The last of US Part 1 now uses more than 1GB less VRAM at all settings/resolutions.

The Last of Us Part 1’s PC patches make the game a lot more playable on GPUs without a huge amount of video memory. This is great news for gamers with 8GB graphics cards, as this makes The Last of Us Part 1 very playable on these graphics cards with high game settings.
