Cyberpower Ultra R77 FX Introduction
It’s been a little while since we last had a Cyberpower system in our offices for review. Last time we saw one it was one of the first hardline watercooled systems we’d reviewed. In fact if you just want to gawp, you’re welcome to do so by checking out our review. Showing how fast the hardware world moves, that was a premium system based around the Ryzen 7 2700X and a beefy Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti. We don’t want to come across all Ferris Bueller, but truly if you don’t stop and look around it’ll pass you by.
Today’s system, the Ultra R77 FX, is aimed squarely at the gamers in the audience. If you’ve seen the performance of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D you’ll know how well it works in gaming scenarios. The AMD 3D V-Cache makes it a superstar at pushing polygons. Pairing that up with the flagship card in the Radeon range, the RX 7900 XTX, all but guarantees fantastic performance in anything you care to name. That isn’t to say that this is only good at gaming. The Ryzen 7 might be a eight core, 4.2 GHz CPU but that doesn’t mean that it can’t flex its muscles enough in rendering tasks. It’s certainly a high enough performer to allow you to stream smoothly.
Build Specifications
Like all of the major system builders, Cyberpower let you configure it to your hearts content. Our review sample came in a NZXT H6 Flow RGB case rather than the Corsair 5000D listed by default on the Cyberpower site. However, with more room and the handy space around the back to keep everything tidy, we prefer this arrangement. Elsewhere the Ultra R77 FX has all the high end AMD components you could wish for, aimed squarely at the gamer.
