As we always do, we’ve turned everything up to the maximum for our gaming tests. Very much consider these results as a worst case scenario. For example, the RX 7900 XTX is the best AMD card at ray-tracing, but still a shade behind the best Nvidia ones. Neither Control nor Metro Exodus support FSR, so at 4K we wouldn’t expect to break 60 FPS. There will be no sterner test. Turn off ray-tracing and the score would skyrocket. You can see from our Cyberpunk result that even FSR can’t fully overcome the impact of heavy ray-tracing. Step away from those and visual feasts like Atomic Heart, Borderlands 3 and the gorgeous Horizon Zero Dawn all show the undeniably great combination of X3D CPU and XTX GPU.
