Battery Life and Temperatures

Showing the benefits of having a carefully selected set of components the HP Omen X absolutely trounced our other two laptops in the battery life test. Obviously you should run your laptop plugged in for best performance, but if you are stuck in the wilderness the Omen X will keep you gaming for significantly longer.

The cooling performance of the GPU is excellent too, with it never passing 66°C. The CPU got much warmer, and in fact we’d not want it to get much warmer than this. Admittedly this is an absolute maximum when deliberately thrashing it and it’s more sane in regular use, but this temperature is exactly why we didn’t take advantage of the overclocking capabilities of the Omen software. When you’re hitting 95°C at stock, who would risk an overclock?
