In keeping with our introductory comments about how far technology has advanced in recent years, the Ryzen 3 1200 is a 3.4 GHz quad core CPU, more than enough for most tasks, whilst the GPU is nearly 1800 MHz with over 1100 CUDA Cores. You don’t have to look very far into history to realise what this system would have cost a scant few years ago.

 

  

The decision to include a hybrid SSHD is pretty much the only negative we have about the build. Even a small SSD would transform the performance of the Obsidian Zen without greatly impacting the cost. Obviously once you start loading something consistently on the Seagate Firecuda then the cache performance will improve your load times in comparison to either a regular HDD or even the results we see here in the Crystal Disk Mark benchmark.
