Conclusion

We always say about how good PCSpecialist are at systems, and every time a new one arrives we wait for that truism to be negated but it never is.

The Cruiser iCUE Supreme R has all the hallmarks we’ve come to expect from the Wakefield company. Fantastic component choice is the area that rewards the user the most. The number of pre-built rigs we see that clearly aren’t put together with any care, instead going for high end, high ticket items where they aren’t needed and cheap ones where they are, is incalculable. Instead, PCS always make sure you’ve enough cooling to cool the processor they’ve used. You get a drive and memory that best back up that component choice.

Any time you’re buying on a budget you want to know that every pound you’ve spent is one that brings performance or improves your Quality of Life. With PCSpecialist that is basically a guarantee. Here we have a fantastic case in the Corsair 3500X that shows off the huge amount of RGB within the system. Additionally the swathes of glass aren’t compromising your cooling as there are three intake fans. Those intake fans are RGB ones, to make the best of the amount of glass. The 32GB of 6000MHz DDR5 Corsair RAM also has a lot of RGB in it. Keeping your processor cool is the Corsair H100X, with RGB fans. This is all controlled with their iCUE software, letting you control the lighting in one place. Perfect if you’re new to owning a high-end rig.

The Meaty Bits

The component choices continue to shine. The Ryzen 9 7900X3D is a monstrously capable processor that is a true all-rounder. Better yet, the X3D part means it has AMDs 3D V-Cache which gives a genuine boost to your average frame rates. This helps the RTX 4070 Ti Super – already a superb graphics card for the money – shine that little bit brighter. Every one of our games tested, even the insanity of Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty’s Dogtown area, was smooth and over 60 FPS at 4K. The processor and graphics card work in harmony to deliver buttery smooth gaming performance without resorting to making you pay through the nose for products higher up their respective ranges. The 2TB MP600 M.2 is the icing on the cake.

Final Thoughts

The whole range of PCSpecialist systems are a testament to their component knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile. From the cheapest to the most expensive, all are built with a high attention to detail. Nonetheless we think the systems around the £1999 price point of today’s Cruiser iCUE Supreme R is where they shine the brightest. You aren’t constrained by extreme budgetary requirements, but nor can you just throw all the flagship stuff at it. By having some fiscal limitations you can sort the wise from the ATGNIs. If you want a gaming system that runs everything from Stardew Valley to Frostpunk 2, the PCSpecialist Cruiser iCUE Supreme R is a sublime all-rounder and doesn’t just pass the threshold for our Gamers award, but into the rarefied air of our OC3D Performance Award. Spectacular.

The PCSpecialist Cruiser iCUE Supreme R is available right now for £1999.99 from here.
