PCSpecialist Titan Exige Review
Up Close
As with all PCSpecialist builds you receive all the cables, screws, manuals and accessories one would get if you purchased the components seperately, which in the case of the Strix Z690-F, Corsair iCUE 5000X and RMx PSU is quite a lot.
Another PCS trademark is the expanding foam insert that keeps all your components in perfect condition during transit. We don’t often show it but it’s worth pointing out that the outside of the case is just as well protected with large foam sides in an extremely robust box. We’ve nearly reviewed 20 systems of theirs and all of them have arrived in mint condition.
The Corsair iCUE 5000X RGB case is a beast, with glass nearly everywhere – still covered in the plastic for extra protection – and chunky dimensions. If you prefer your cases to be monolithic you’ll enjoy this. The keen eyed amongst you will also spot the three RGB intake fans that give the 5000X its RGB designation.
We’ll take a closer look at the connections in a moment, but for now enjoy the girth of the 5000X. Able to mount your GPU vertically or horizontally, and with plenty of airflow vents, it’s most of what we want a case to be.
With the side panel off – no hinges here – and the foam insert removed you can see what a high end system you’re getting for your money. Beefy RTX 3080 Ti – here in Gigabyte Eagle format although you’ll receive whatever model is in stock – that is also braced to ensure no card droop. The Elite Capellix is one of the finest AIOs on the market and combines excellent cooling with, most importantly, quiet operation. Three intake fans suck cold air in and everything is up to PCSpecialists usual standards of cable management.
The Strix Z690-F has all the elements you want from your new system without needlessly pushing the price up by going for a higher end motherboard that doesn’t really give you much more connectivity for your money. The Dominator Platinum DDR5 kit is, as you can see at the top and bottom of this page, RGB but also blazingly fast at 5200 MHz. Beating beneath that PCS custom cover is the flagship 12th Generation Intel CPU, the 5 GHz, 24 thread Core i9-12900K.
A closer look at the thick Gigabyte Eagle RTX 3080 Ti and GPU brace. Triple slot width, quad slot with the support, certainly dominates the bottom half of the Titan Exige.
USB 3 in Type-A and Type-C formats handle the front panel connections, with power/reset switches and front panel headphone jack should you need it.
We often mention how the number of USB ports on a motherboard is almost in direct correlation to its quality, and the Strix F has plenty to keep even the most peripheral-rich, high throughput demanding user content. You can also see the 5 display output options of the RTX 3080 Ti.
When powered on there is no doubt that the Titan Exige has ALL the lighting. Three RGB fans at the front, three at the top, RGB pump cover, RGB DDR5 and the Strix RGB lighting give you a mini Blackpool Illuminations.
