OCCT has been upgraded with a dedicated storage test

OCCT can now be used to stress test your CPU, GPU, and storage

2025 has been a big year for OCCT. The tool first launched for Linux in April. In June, the tool became available on Steam. Now, OCCT has a dedicated storage test, allowing users to stress test and benchmark their HDDs, SSDs, and storage arrays.

As of now, OCCT is a complete PC stress testing suite. The tool now has the ability to stress test CPUs, GPUs, and storage solutions. That’s all of the vital components of any PC.

OCCT’s new storage test allows users to benchmark their storage devices, delivering similar results to tools like CrystalDiskMark. The benchmark showcases sequential read performance, sequential write performance, random read performance, and random write performance. Users can also upload their results online, allowing them to compare their hardware with that of other users with similar configurations.

This month’s OCCT update also adds support for older Linux distributions. Until now, OCCT only supported Linux distributions as far back as Debian Bookworm. Now, OCCT supports a wider range of Linux distributions, supporting distributions from 2018, like Debian Bullseye.

In the coming weeks, OCCT Skins will be making a comeback. 0Ring, OCCT’s safe alternative to Winring0, has also been signed by Microsoft, which means that this feature will soon be ready to release. Next year, an “On-Premise” solution for professional data storage will become available. This will allow professional OCCT users to host their OCCT data locally, rather than relying on OCBase’s online servers.
