Corsair is working on next-gen PSUs with 12V-2×6 “per-pin monitoring”

Corsair’s next-generation PSUs are packing fancy new 12V-2×6 tech

Corsair’s Jonny “Guru” Gerow has confirmed that Corsair plans to release new PSUs with “per-pin monitoring” technology. This should allow users to monitor their 12V-2×6 power cables and detect power distribution along the cables’ wires. This should also allow Corsair to implement new 12V-2×6 safety features, similar to MSI’s Safeguard+ PSU technology.

It is currently unknown when these new PSUs will be released. Regardless, it is nice to see Corsair take its PSU technology to the next level. 12V-2×6 GPU users should also be glad that more PSU options are becoming available that should feature 12V-2×6 cable monitoring.

In his post below, Jonny also states that he may give some of Corsair’s OOBE team Thermal Grizzly Wireview Pro units for testing. He also expressed interest in including them in their official product testing procedures.

Since we know nothing about Corsair’s PSU roadmap or release schedule, we can only speculate about the company’s “per-pin monitoring” tech. Honestly, I can imagine this being part of a revamped RMi series PSU lineup with per-pin monitoring data being visible in Corsair’s iCUE app. After all, Corsair’s older RMi series PSUs did feature software power monitoring features.
