Patch 2.01 promises performance gains and more for Cyberpunk 2077

Expect a performance boost when Cyberpunk 2077 receives its next update

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that a new update for Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to further improve the game on PC and consoles. Alongside bug fixes, this update aims to deliver performance improvements to Cyberpunk, especially within the Phantom Liberty expansion’s new Dogtown area.

Update 2.01 also aims to address a long list of bugs. Many of these issues are listed in the “coming soon” patch notes below. That said, patch 2.01 will include many more fixes for Cyberpunk 2077.

As of now, CD Projekt Red considers Cyberpunk 2077 “content complete”. That means that gamers should not expect to see new DLC or expansion content for Cyberpunk 2077. All future patches will primarily be for bug fixing. However, it is likely that we may see updates that will add PC features like FSR 3, or updated versions of DLSS to the game.

Patch 2.01 coming soon

Hey, chooms! We want to give you a heads-up that Patch 2.01 will be coming soon.

Here’s a list of most important fixes and improvements that will be included there:

  • The distorted effect caused by selecting a specific dialogue option when talking to Johnny at the end of Automatic Love will no longer persist on the screen.
  • V will no longer die in The Heist by falling through the elevator when riding to the 42nd floor with low FPS.
Fixed an issue where the UI could show controller inputs when playing with keyboard and mouse.
  • Made it possible to properly switch to arms cyberware by cycling through weapons.
  • Gig: Breaking News will be properly triggered after approaching the quest area.
  • Vehicle radio volume will be adjusted so it’s not too quiet when compared to other sounds in the game.
  • Addressed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix the saves corrupted before the update. If you’re experiencing the issue, keep a working save (e.g. resave it as manual save) till 2.01 arrives.
  • Performance improvements for both PC and consoles, especially in the Dogtown area.
  • Remember that these are just the highlights, so stay tuned for more details!

Patch 2.0 transformed Cyberpunk 2077, adding many new mechanics to the game while delivering any huge alterations to the game’s existing systems. These changes have resulted in some new bugs being added to Cyberpunk 2077. These bugs will be fixed with new game updates.

Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty have launched in a relatively bug-free state. That said, that does not mean that Cyberpunk 2077’s new content has no bugs. We expect to see a lot of small updates for Cyberpunk 2077 in the near future, adding further polish to the game.

Cyberpunk 2077’s update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty expansion are now available on PC and current-generation consoles. The last-generation versions of Cyberpunk 2077 lack update 2.0 and support for Phantom Liberty.
