Skyblivion - The Oblivion Remake within Skyrim - will launch in 2025 "at the latest"
Modders have been working to recreate The Elder Scrolls Oblivions within The Elder Scrolls Skyrim, giving the classic RPG improved visuals, controls, and new gameplay mechanics. This project is called Skyblivion, and it is a decade in the making.
Now, the modders behind Skyblivion has revealed a release year for their AAA mod, confirming that Skyblivion will be released in 2025 at the latest. While 2025 is still a long way off, the modders behind Skyblivion have been clear that they may release their mod sooner, assuming that they complete their work ahead of schedule.
Skyblivion is a project that is being created by a large team of volunteers in their spare time. The mod is a passion project that has brought many talented modders together to create something that Bethesda wouldn't. The trailer below showcases the fruit of this teams efforts, and it is impressive.
Oblivion Remade in the Skyrim engine. Remaking Oblivion in the Skyrim engine is what we set out to do when we started the Skyblivion project. Making games takes time, this goes double for a volunteer project the size of a AAA game that took a team of fulltime DEVS years to make. Regardless we would like to share today that Skyblivion is in a state where we can promise a 2025 release at the latest. We hope with your support to finish the final steps in completing our dream, maybe even beating our own estimation.
In Skyblivion's release year trailer, we can see the Imperial Capitol in Cyrodiil, various monsters, factions, dungeons, and dremora. When the mod launches, PC gamers will need a copy of Skyrim Special Edition and Oblivion (with all of its DLC) to run it. Modders who are interested in joining the project can apply to join here.
