ASUS Cerberus V2 Headset Review
Introduction
The Cerberus range from ASUS is their set of peripherals at the affordable end of the market. We have previously looked at their mouse, keyboard and headset and found them all to be decent takes on the formula of giving you a “name” peripheral without busting the bank. The keyboard in particular was excellent value for money.
As always with affordable peripherals though there is room for improvement, whether it is because of material cost changes or just the knowledge that there is a market for products from that manufacturer at that price. The Cerberus headset is the first of the aforementioned range to see an update, here in the form of the Cerberus V2.
With a metal headband replacing the plastic of old, and an adjustment to the size of the drivers, can it improve upon the formula of the original and challenge some of the well established models?
Technical Specifications
The original Cerberus headset had 60mm drivers and a microphone that responded from 50-16000Hz. The V2 utilises 53mm drivers and a microphone that tops out at 10000Hz. Otherwise, in addition to the extra 100g weight over its predecessor, it is a lot like the original.
