ROG products have always come in exceptional packaging and the Delta is no different. Clear product images with sufficiently minimalist logos help lend an air of class to proceedings. Although we mentioned it on the previous page, it bears repeating here that the Delta supports almost anything with a USB connector.

Lifting the lid is always an important moment. First impressions are vital, and rarely more so than when you’re dealing with a product at the premium end of the price spectrum. The internal housing for the headset is soft to the touch and robust, ensuring that your Delta will arrive in perfect condition. Beneath the housing is a box containing the detachable microphone, Type-C to Type-A cable that also serves to extend your cable length by a metre, and two additional ear cups if you prefer the cloth style.

The close nature of the ear pieces made us fear that the headset will be clamped onto our head, but that isn’t the case at all. The complex hinge arrangement looks lovely and is extremely sturdy with no flex or wobble at all.

The ear piece design is more of a D shape than the more usual circular shape and the headset is all the more comfortable for it. Deep ear cups, thick foam and flexible hinges also help ensure that you can wear the Delta for a long time without suffering fatigue.

The only controls are a volume toggle and the lighting toggle. We prefer volume wheels for their level of control, but if you find you wear big collars or hoodies and are always unintentionally adjusting your volume then the stiff nature of the toggle wheel will be a benefit. Something that is a smaller detail but nonetheless indicative of the design efforts are the small vents at the top which help keep your ears cool. Nice.

The metal construction of the hinges should help ensure that this notorious headset weakness is negated and your ROG Delta as inflexible as the day you purchased it. You can also see the microphone is a good length and close enough to your mouth to save you shouting, but not so close that your team-mates will sound like some aggressive 12 year old when barking orders.
