Up Close

The packaging gives no clue that the Masterpulse MH320 is anything but a premium item, as the Coolermaster Masterx range has a stark, minimalist aesthetic so beloved of high-end hardware.

Once out of its cardboard confines the affordability is slightly more clear to our experienced eyes. The cable is neither braided nor tightly looped together, and the MH320 itself is obviously made from plastics which provide good value, rather than thick soft-feel ones. But at this price point you’d have to be insane to expect it to feel anything other than it does. This is all about how it sounds, but the looks are fine and build quality is fine.

The MH320 has a metal frame with suspended foam headband to keep the headset in place. The metal provides rigidity and some small amount of shock absorption, whilst the headband automatically adjusts to be however high it needs to be. Perfect if you find yourself fighting with height adjustable hinges or if you have a lot of people planning to use it. The ear pieces are well padded and the MH320 is a closed back design which should help enhance the bass.

The microphone is attached to the left ear piece and is flexible enough to allow placement wherever you wish, although we’d recommend near your mouth. But not in it as it sounds like so many online communicators do. There is an in-line remote which gives you microphone muting at the flick of a switch, as well as letting you adjust the volume. All standard stuff.
