Corsair Void Pro RGB Headset Review

Corsair Void Pro RGB Headset Review

Up Close

The Void Pro gives us a distinct sense of deja vu. The design and packaging is identical to the previous Void’s that have crossed the threshold into the OC3D office. We love the yellow accents on the box. It makes such a refreshing change in a sea of black and red, or monochrome. Too many manufacturers stick rigidly to red or blue colour selection. Hooray for a little yellow in our lives.

As we saw on the previous page the Void comes in a few different flavours. We have the wired one here which eliminates any of the “are my batteries charged enough” worries that can come from a wireless headset, albeit at the expense of a cable. When I am rich I will force every headset manufacturer to understand that PC cases come with windows on the left, thus sit on our right hand side, thus having the cable on the left of the headset just means it ends up across your body like some Miss World sash. Put it on the right ear piece!

The volume and mute controls are on the left hand ear piece. Although this is the wired model this is also where they are on the wireless one so it must save a fortune in tooling costs. The right ear piece merely has the Corsair sail logo which is where the RGB part of the Void Pro RGB comes into play. We still miss the yellow USB connector, and will complain about it until Corsair go back to using yellow instead of the grey. Nothing in the world has ever been improved by switching to grey.
