NZXT Switchmix and Relay Ecosystem Review

Up Close – Relay Speakers and Subwoofer

Although not the main focus of today’s review, it’s worth taking a moment to look at the NZXT Relay speakers and subwoofer. After all, people are brand loyal and we like our components to come from the same company to let us run the absolute minimum of control software. Much better to have it all under one roof so to speak.

As well as the big bass port you can see above, the Relay Subwoofer has a 6.5″/16.5cm down-firing driver and 140W of power to really give you the kick that you need.

We all like different amounts of bass, and the Relay gives you plenty of tools to fine tune it amongst your mix, with dials to control volume, crossover and phase, as well as a simple one cable connection to the Relay speaker pairing.

Speaking of the Relay speakers, here they are in all their solid build quality glory. If you’ve only ever experienced cheap and flimsy speakers then these will come as a nice surprise, particularly given their price point. You get all the cables you need; power, 3.5mm jack for connection to the Switchmix or whatever input you desire, as well as RCA connectors and the speaker cables that attach the pair together. The tweeters are 20mm silk dome offerings, whilst the main speakers are 3 inch glass fibre options.
