XPG Emix H30 and SoloX A30 Headset Review

With a stand included it isn’t surprising that the packaging for the Emix is definitely on the large side. A clearly printed cardboard sleeve surrounded a further box which contains the headset, stand and amplifier in a foam lined box. There is no doubting that the Emix should arrive in the same state that it left the factory. We particularly like the clear printing on the back of the box where XPG have made the most of the real estate available to them.

  
  
 

If the box is large then the headset is equally big, reminding us of some headsets we saw in the 80s before the “everything smaller than what came before” design ethos took hold. If bigger is better counts as a mantra then the H30 should be spectacular. A flexible headband should provide plenty of longevity whilst the suspended headband takes an awful lot of weight off of your head. Perfect if you are one of those people who hate headsets clamping onto your dome. It is worth mentioning that the H30 doesn’t actually weigh all that much being largely of plastic construction. It’s certainly much lighter than it looks whilst not being flimsy.

  
  
  

The headset can either be plugged into the USB 7.1 amplifier or used just with the 3.5mm jacks. We’ll be testing it in its USB guise today. When powered the headset ear pieces glow red along with the tip of the microphone. We’ll take a closer look at the amplifier before wrapping up today’s review.
