APNX V2 PC Case Review

Meet the APNX V2

APNX is bringing fresh ideas to the PC case market

APNX is a relatively new entrant to the PC case market. When we reviewed their V1 case last year, we called them a “brand to watch”. Now, we have their new V2 case in for review, and to say the least, we are impressed.

If nothing else, the V2 has proven to us that it sometimes takes a new entrant to shake up a market. In fact, this case is one of the first to implement an idea that we have talked about for years. No, we’re not talking about this case’s 3-panel tempered glass design; it’s something a lot simpler than that.

Taking Panoramic Glass to the next level

One of the big selling points of the APNX V2 is its aesthetic. With three tempered glass panels, users have an almost completely unobstructed view of their hardware. PC builders can fully showcase their chosen hardware to onlookers. Additionally, removing these panels makes hardware upgrades and PC maintenance a breeze.

Proper Back-Connect support

Like many modern PC cases, APNX’s V2 case supports back-connect PC motherboards. This includes ASUS BTF, MSI PZ (Project Zero), and Gigabyte Stealth motherboards. These motherboards have all their power/IO connections at the rear, giving them an almost cable-free aesthetic.

Unlike other brands, APNX has given its new case a cover that blocks its back-connect holes and cleans up its motherboard tray. This provides users of non-back-connect motherboards with a cleaner-looking system, free from these unused holes. We’ve been asking BTF motherboard makers to create covers for these holes since the concept of back-connect PC cases and motherboards was introduced. APNX have become the first brand to listen. Because of this, APNX’s V2 case has given its newest case a useful aesthetic upgrade for users of “normal” PC motherboards.

Radiator/Fan Support

The V2 comes with four 140mm fans pre-installed. Three of these fans are installed at the base of this case as intakes, and the 4th fan is installed at the rear of the case as an exhaust. These four pre-installed fans are RGB illuminated FP3 fans. On the right side of the PC, this case has space for five 120mm fans or two 120mm fans and three 140mm fans.

Below, you can see that users of this case can install up to one 360mm and one 240mm liquid cooling radiator inside. These radiators can be mounted in various configurations, as shown below. This means that users can install separate liquid cooling radiators for their CPU and GPU. Alternatively, users can create a custom liquid cooling setup with two radiators. Either way, this case is ideal for fans of AIO liquid coolers or custom liquid cooling setups.

PSU mounting options

Users of this case can install their power supply in one of two places. There is a higher mount, which gives users of back-connect motherboards easier access to connection points. Alternatively, there is a lower mount, which provides users with greater access to the rear of their motherboard’s CPU socket (which is great for frequent upgraders). This customisability makes the V2 more versatile, allowing users to optimise the system to better suit their needs.

APNX V2 Case Pricing and Specifications

At launch, the APNX V2 will cost £124.99 in the UK.  The case will be available in black and white. GPU-wise, this case supports graphics cards up to 445mm long. It also supports CPU coolers up to 183mm tall. Power supplies up to 270mm long ar also supported.
