ASUS PRIME AP303 PC case Review

Conclusion

Another great case from ASUS

There was a time when cases from major hardware brands were only useful for “brand synergy”. You’d buy an ASUS case to match brands with your other ASUS parts. If you wanted the best cooling performance, you’d probably be better off going for a case from a dedicated PC case manufacturer. To say the least, times have changed.

ASUS’ PRIME AP303 is an excellent case. When it comes to CPU and GPU cooling, it is among the best PC cases we have tested. If you want a relatively compact PC with strong cooling performance, the AP303 is worth considering. This isn’t a case that you’d buy for its branding alone.

As a case manufacturer, things are looking up for ASUS. We reviewed their PRIME AP202 earlier this year, and it is an excellent enclosure as well. Clearly, ASUS’ case designers know what they are doing. They know that modern PC builds require strong airflow, and they are delivering PC cases that meet the needs of modern PCs while delivering excellent aesthetics.

An ideal case for almost any PC build, not just all-ASUS PCs

The AP303 is an ideal case for an “all-white all-ASUS” PC. This is especially true if you are using ASUS PRIME series hardware. Overall, ASUS has given us very little to criticise. The “chimney-style” airflow pattern is a tried-and-true design. Cool air enters the bottom, and heat rises. Add a few fans to accelerate this, and you have a PC case with excellent airflow.

At £94.99, this case was in the running for a Value for Money Award, but its strong airflow and cooling performance led us to give this case an OC3D Performance Award instead. To get the most from this case, users will need to add some fans. That said, the same applies to almost all PC cases. The PRIME AP303 is a well-built case with excellent airflow. It’s a case that’s well worth recommending.
