The Build

The Pro 6 comes with a nice little cardboard box of accessories, not quite the magnetic tin box that comes with the Maker 5 but the contents are essentially the same.

Building in to the Pro 6 is a doddle, perhaps even more so as this is the 4th time we’ve done it!

With everything in we can see that the Pro 6 offers a good 190mm of headroom for CPU coolers, and a Max GPU length of 296mm, increasing to 412mm with the HDD cages removed.

So you can fit a 240mm rad in the front, and one in the roof, and in theory a 280mm rad up to a maximun length of 297mm.  Do you know of any decent 280mm rads that short?  Nah, us neither.  So basically you can’t easily get a 280mm rad up there, which brings us to the point we made earlier.  Much earlier, like two years ago earlier.  If CoolerMaster made the roof bracket just 7mm less deep you could actually get the fans into the roof space and have the rad below it (where you see the fans now in the image below).  alternatively you could get some some 7mm spacers, and longer screws to project it clear.  Not pretty, but do-able, and as we work it with our test rig.  Come on CoolerMaster, we’re not asking you to re tool for the whole case, that would be daft, just sort that top bracket out.
