Corsair FRAME 5000D PC Case Review

Meet the Corsair FRAME 5000D

It’s time to look at the Corsair FRAME 5000D

Corsair has officially expanded its FRAME series of PC cases. The FRAME 5000D has arrived, promising many of the same perks as its smaller counterpart, but with support for larger components. The FRAME 5000D was built for big liquid cooling radiators, colossal graphics cards, and all of the latest techno gubbins.

Today, we will be looking at Corsair’s FRAME 5000D RS ARGB model. Note that this case will be available in black and white.

It’s like the FRAME 4000D, but BIGGER!

I’ll be honest. I loved the FRAME 4000D when it launched. I called it the best Case that Corsair has made in years when we reviewed it back in March. Simply put, a larger version of this case with 420mm radiator support is an easy win for Corsair. That said, as we move deeper into this review, you will see that our thoughts on this case aren’t positive. There are both positive and negative aspects to this case. That said, if you want a FRAME 4000D, but bigger, the 5000D is a clear option for you.

Upgrade options

Like the FRAME 4000D, Corsair’s FRAME 5000D will have upgrade options. Corsair has promised two FRAME accessories for the horizontal area at the base of this PC case. Users can install new panels that allow users to install three 120mm or 140mm fans for enhanced cooling, or a XENEON EDGE touch display add-on.

Sadly, Corsair has not confirmed when these accessories will become available. Since Corsair’s FRAME 4000D upgrades remain unavailable, we cannot guarantee that this case’s upgrade options will be available soon.

Upgraded I/O options

With the FRAME 5000D, Corsair is offering users an updated front I/O panel. The 5000D will feature four USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a headset/mic combo jack, and an iCUE-compatible RGB light strip. Note that the FRAME 5000D has two more USB 3.0 ports than Corsair’s FRAME 4000D

Corsair FRAME 5000D cooling options

The FRAME 5000D is available in two forms. First, there is the FRAME 5000 RS, which includes four non-RGB RS140 (140mm) fans, and the FRAME 5000D RS ARGB, which features three RS140 (140mm) RGB illuminated fans. For today’s review, we will be looking at Corsair’s ARGB model.

Below you can see the available fan mounts and radiator compatibility of Corsair’s FRAME 5000D.

Pricing

In the UK, Corsair’s FRAME 5000D is relatively affordable with its baseline price of £124.99. Add an extra £25, and users will get RGB-illuminated fans. This is a reasonable price for a case of this size.
