Corsair H115i PRO RGB and H150i PRO RGB Review

Up Close:Â Radiator and Cold Plate
For this part of the review we’re going to concentrate more on the H115i with regards to images, appreciating that the H115i and the H150i are very similar in all respects other than the H115i being a 140mm based rad measuring 315mm x 143mm x 29mm and the H150i a 120mm based rad, measuring 396mm x 120mm x 27mm. Both rads share the same boxy matte finish aesthetic, and both have a Corsair logo badge picked out in chrome on the side.

The H115i has fifteen visible water channels, and is 29mm thick, whereas the H150i is thinner at 27mm thick and has 11 water channels

 Fin density wise, both come in at 22 fins per inch, which is about average.

The Cold plate is common to both rads, as is the low permeation black sleeved tubing which attached via two 90 degree rotating elbows. The Upper surface of the cold Plate is silver plastic, with a reasonable appearance of it being metal. The center is gloss black, with it’s border, and the Corsair logo being the part that illuminates via the four RGB LEDs positioned behind it.

Both come with fittings for All modern AMD and Intel CPUs, with the circular copper contact plate having a film of pre applied TIM on it. This we will of course be removing and replacing with our Noctua TIM prior to testing.

The Cold Plate is actually quite a low profile design, with the USB attachment coming out of its left hand side as you look at it when installed in the case. Â

Although the Cold Plate is RGB enabled, the fans are not, with Corsair opting instead for 3xML120s at 1600rpm for the H150i, and 2xML140s at 1200RPM for the H115i

With the fans attached, the H115i measures 56mm deep including the height of the screw heads, with the H150i coming in just 2mm thinner at 54mm. It’ll be interesting to see which is more effective, the longer H150i with its three 1200RPM speed fans, or the H115i with a slighter thicker rad and two fans rotating at a higher 1600RPM.
