With three 140mm fans on board the H170i Elite Capellix is physically bigger than its H150i sibling, but it’s not until you have the box in front of you that you realise quite how much bigger it is. This thing is huge. We’ve set it aside for when the floods come.

When you look at it without anything nearby to have as a size context it’s tough to fully appreciate how beefy the new H170i is, but if that CPU pump/block looks smaller than usual it might be a clue as to the dimensions of the radiator.

The CORE version of the Corsair Commander is present and correct, helping you keep a close eye on the fan speeds and lighting without having to spend yet more cash on a way to tie them all together.

Here are the three 140mm RGB SP fans. Hopefully a good combination between airflow and noise, something that all fans aspire towards. Normally Corsair fans hit the sweet spot but we’ll find out soon enough.

Moving on to the iCUE 7000X case and the Capillex in “built up” format there is certainly plenty of space on the front to show off your choice of lighting.

If you like your cases with as little as possible covering up your hardware then the 7000X should be right up your street. Not only is there a big window at the front but the side window surround barely covers the case structure, let alone anything inside it.

If you like to tuck things away behind covers then the Corsair iCUE 7000X has you, ahem, covered. To the side of the motherboard is a panel which covers up the side grommets through which you stick your SATA cables and 24pin ATX cable, whilst the PSU and drives have their own cover. What’s that?
