Fractal Modding Competition

Deadpool by Craigferrie

A well timed build with the release of the Deadpool movie this year.  Craigferrie has taken a different approach to the themed build idea.  This time concentrating on very specific features that make the “Deadpool” build stand out.

Colour once again plays a big part in the build.  However Craigferrie has gone with a different approach.  By using vinyl to wrap panels he has achieved a clean, and more importantly, an even colour across different panels.  Vinyl is a great medium to work with. One of the major advantages is that you can see the colour before applying.  However it is not without any downfall.  It is very important that any type of vinyl wrap is applied well, leaving air bubbles can be a real eyesore.  Craigferrie has done well here to apply without any issues, especially on surfaces that are uneven which can often pose further problems.

Craigferrie chose to spray his fans due to the lack of coloured fans available.  Spraying anything that will be moving that fast is a bold move.  Weight distribution can, and often does unbalance fans especially at higher RPM.  Although, as can be seen here, that colour change can often lead to a great aesthetic improvement.

The biggest changes seen in this build are the front and side panels which have been completely replaced.  Both are made from acrylic, the side panel being the more unique with the leather covered edges.  The leather ties in nicely with the Deadpool theme. Finishing touches include a PSU cover, custom cables and the addition of props.

The use of props within this case do well to take up the empty space in the front of what is a remarkably spacious case.

Well done Craigferrie on a unique build.
