Fractal Modding Competition

Something Special by Permafrost

Let me start with saying that of all the builds done for this competition, Permafrost has shown great dedication to mastering a new skill.  Something special is different from the other builds due to the focus being on the internals over the case itself.

When it comes to planning a build, hardware choice can often be an easy starting point.  Permafrost has gone all out on the water cooling side with blocks, radiators and reservoir by EK.

With all the blocks in place, the use of monochromatic colours and red as an accent, the build looks super clean and tidy.  This is where the build is make or break, the choice to hardline the cooling loop.  Although this may not seem out of place, the competition build was the first time Permafrost had used hardline.

To be honest, this is always what stands out for me from this build.  Anyone who has tried to use any hardline, be it for the first or fifth time, will attest that it can be frustrating.  Measurements need to be done, then redone.

Permafrost has finished off with showing how important lighting can be to really show the quality of a build.  With only a small amount of red accent and a balanced black to white ratio, using a well laid out light source can often make the final build quality really shine.

Kudos Permafrost on a great build!
