MSI MPG VELOX 300R AIRFLOW PZ Case Review
Meet the MSI MPG VELOX 300R AIRFLOW PZ
MSI has upped their game with their new MPG VELOX 300R AIRFLOW PZ
Recently, big changes have been made to MSI’s case-making department. Gone are the days when you would buy an MSI case just for its MSI logo. MSI now make PC cases that are worth buying without considering its branding. Last year’s MSI Maestro 700L PZ was our favourite case of 2024. It’s big brother, the Maestro 900 PZ was also our best PC case of CES 2025. Now, MSI has a new case to show us, the MPG VELOX 300R AIRFLOW PZ.
With the VELOX, MSI has moved into the more mainstream segment of the PC market. It has a more standard design but a rich feature set. The case is available in black and white, and both models ship with three fans out of the box.
Like all new MSI cases, the VELOX 300R supports back-connect motherboards. This is perfect for anyone who wants to use MSI’s Project Zero motherboards and give their PC a “hidden cable” look.
Within this case, there are also a lot of nice add-ons. We have a horizontal GPU holder, an EZ access PSU cover, removable fan/radiator mounting brackets, and more.
MSI’s “Exclusive Dual-Layer Blades Fan”
One of the most interesting aspects of this new case is its inclusion of dual-layer 160mm fans. For starters, 160mm is an unusual fan size. Typically, we see 140mm or 120mm fans on PC cases. Next, we have the custom blades on these fans, which are optimised to deliver more focused inner-ring airflow and increase the overall stability of these new fans.
What these fans achieve is what MSI calls the “Tornado Funnel” effect. These fans are designed to provide more concentrated airflow and an expanded heat dissipation range. Great news for any component in the direct airflow path of these fans!
Specifications and Pricing
MSI has told us that this case will cost £139.99, placing it on the more premium side of the mainstream PC case market. For that money, MSI ships this case with three fans, a fan speed control hub, integrated RGB controls, horizontal GPU support, and “EZ” PSU access. This case was also made to support custom liquid cooling components, including a distro plate, and up to three 360mm liquid cooling radiators.
