Unboxing – What comes in AMD’s Threadripper Package? 

Like most review kits, AMD PR has made sure that their new Threadripper processors arrive with high levels of flash, hoping to wow us before we even get the opportunity to place their processors into our test rigs. 

First, we are greeted by some kind of display stand for AMD’s Threadripper 2nd Generation package, showing off the company’s premium Threadripper packaging in the best light possible. 
  

While the external stand is reviewer-exclusive, the box it holds is the same as what all 2nd Generation Threadripper buyers will receive. The box itself showcases AMD’s Threadripper processor for all to see, offering a high-quality look and feel that Intel’s high-end offerings cannot match.  

  

The packaging for AMD’s new Threadripper processors is the same for all core counts and CPU models, whether it be the company’s 32-core flagship or its base 2920X model. 

Today, we have AMD’s Ryzen 2nd Generation Threadripper sixteen core 2950X and thirty-two core 2990WX processors, both of which ship with the same included accessories.  

  

All Threadripper owners will get the same unboxing experience, with the same premium casing that is sure to keep your processor undamaged throughout the shipping process, giving users what seems to be courier-proof packaging and neat display item for hardware fans to display in their office or man-cave. 

  

At the core of the package, AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper processor stands proud, placed in a hardened case that is designed to protect the CPU from the least careful of unboxers. The CPU inside will come pre-installed onto an X399 socket sledge, ready for installation into your extreme-grade desktop system. 

 

Inside their package, AMD has also included a Torx driver for use with X399 motherboards, an Asetek-compatible adaptor for AIO liquid coolers and a Ryzen Threadripper case badge to mark your system. Warranty information is also available within AMD’s packaging, though there is little need to go into that in great detail.
