CPU Temperatures

Although our overclocking efforts always try and push the CPU to its absolute thermal limits and thus this graph isn’t all that useful as far as the overclocking results are concerned, it does at least demonstrate how efficient the motherboard is and the kind of heat generated you can expect. When we’re limited by the abilities of the CPU itself it also shows how much/little voltage is needed to hit our silicon limits. Obviously clock speed plays a huge part in how warm the CPU gets, and with the additional speed of the XT CPUs over their forebears it is no surprise that they run a tiny bit warmer, although none of them reach even worrisome heights, with the “4.6 GHz on all twelve cores” Ryzen 9 3900XT proving the warmest of the bunch. It shows how much better the 3600XT is too, given how hot the OG one got. All the VRM readings were cool enough to not even be worth mentioning, much less graphing.
