AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with Corsair H60 Overclocking & Undervolting
Power Benefits
It wont surprise you to learn that if you cut down on the VCore then you gain power efficiency. When it comes to our final overclock versus the stock 2700X we’re gaining a huge amount of performance – 4 GHz across all cores instead of the stock arrangement of limited core boosting – yet with a power draw at the wall of 4W lower than the stock setup.
Looking at the Amps drawn by the Ryzen 7 2700X itself you can see how dramatically it scales with even the slightest voltage adjustment. At stock it’s pulling 111 Amps, with an old fashioned overclock it’s draining nearly 129. Down the bottom you can see that our addition of another .025v to take the system into fully stable territory only adds a single Amp of draw compared to the 1.2v which was too heavily undervolted. A clear demonstration of the benefits from finely tuning your rig.
