AMD Ryzen memory optimisation – The effect of tRC timings
3DMARK Sky Diver
In 3DMARK Sky Diver we can see a noteworthy impact on performance, with upticks in CPU, combined and final benchmark scores.Â
The most improvement is seen when using 3200MHz memory, which is likely due to the larger change in tRC value. Our improvements to our memory’s tRC timings is enough to boost our Sky Diver scores to over 45,000, with a 500 point boost.Â

3DMARK Fire Strike
Moving to 3DMARK Fire Strike we can see similar improvements to what we see in 3DMARK Sky Diver, with boosts in CPU, combined and final scores. Â
In this case, using out new tRC timings was almost enough to allow our 2666MHz memory to offer the same performance as out 3200MHz hit at stock timings. If you want the best benchmark score tRCÂ memory timings are certainly worth adjusting. Â Â
Â
3DMARK Time Spy
In 3DMARK Time Spy we found that once again our changes to tRC timings have a much larger effect on performance when using faster memory kits, making this change a must for users of 3200MHz memory kits. Â
The performance boost seen here is much lower when we are using 2666MHz memory kits, though there is still a small impact. Â
