AMD Athlon 860K Black Edition CPU Review

AMD Athlon 860K Review

Unigine Heaven and Valley

Unigine’s Heaven and Valley benchmarks are amongst of our favorite tests their for GPUs. Its benchmark has always been used to give a great comparison to different systems and GPUs, and also its loop mode has always proved helpful as a stressing tool to test graphics card overclocks.

In both Unigine tests the 7850K losed badly to the Atlon 860K combined with a dedicated GPU. At around the same price the 860K + R7 250 almost gives a 50% performance gain in both benchmarks in all tests.

When the 7850K APU is in Dual Graphics mode with the R7 250 we do not see a performance increase compared to just the R7 250 paired with an 860K. Dual Graphics isn’t giving us any benefit here, the average framerates are actually lower.

Both Unigine tests cared very little about which CPU was used or if it was overclocked and only varied noticeably when it came to Memory speeds with the APU.
