ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme Preview

Introduction and Technical Specifications

ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme

Introduction

It’s fair to say that the ASUS Crosshair name is probably their most famous model still going. The Maximus range has been split into a multitude of options, and the Rampage appears to have been consigned to history. The Crosshair is still going strong, and the perfect platform for those who demand the ultimate from their AMD processor.

The newest model in the ASUS range is the ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme. Naturally you’ll be keen to know how it performs. We are too. For now we’re just giving you a preview of what you can expect. It would be easy to wonder what the point of this is. We, however, know that most people who would be interested understand that the feature set is what sets the ROG Extreme models apart from the rest. Most people who have the readies available to buy such a motherboard don’t really mind the performance side of things, because modern chipsets are so tightly matched.

Feature sets though. Now those can really make or break the usability experience. We’ve had many motherboards in our life that had too few USB ports, or storage options, or just could barely run a processor at full chat. With a ROG Extreme you know all those elements are covered. Additionally with a massive 110A 20+2+2 power stage you can pick any of the insane Ryzen processors available, including the AMD flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and know it will just work.

So how does the Crosshair X870E Extreme look and what is it bringing to the party? Read on and find out.

Technical Specifications

As always we’ll be covering all of the highlight features as we go through our photographs. However, we know that many of you like a one-stop overview and these are for you. If you’re particularly impatient then the easy take away is that it’s an Extreme ROG model, so it’s got everything you could ever need.
