Overclocking

With 24 cores pushing the TR 3960X along the need to overclock them even further seems like gilding the lily. However, whilst the latest Agesa updates have brought big increases to stock single threaded overclocking this is a motherboard and CPU combination that is designed to be used hard, for heavyweight creation tasks, so of course we had to test the overclocking prowess of the Zenith II Extreme and it didn’t disappoint, proving equal to the other two premium TRX40 PCBs we’ve looked at today. 4.3 GHz across 24 cores is a ridiculous amount of performance for anyone to handle. The type of calculative capabilities that would have been unthinkable before the Threadripper CPUs appeared, and still makes us gasp with wonderment.
