EVGA Z370 Classified K Review

EVGA Z370 Classified K Review

Conclusion

The EVGA Classified K is an extremely difficult motherboard to both summarise and recommend.

Let’s start with the good stuff.

We like the looks. It might be slightly more industrial than many motherboards that come through our offices, but that isn’t a negative. It’s different. There will be as many people who love the aesthetics as shrug. Choice is never a bad thing. There are plenty of connectivity options and places to put your fans and pumps. In terms of features it is everything you would expect from the famous EVGA Classified range. A particular highlight is the stock performance which regularly scored higher than most of the other Z370 motherboards we’ve tested, and occasionally out-performed the overclock Classified K results.

About the only audience we could recommend the EVGA Z370 Classified K to in its current guise are the LN2 brigade, because they have so much cooling available that higher voltages aren’t really the same problem they are to those of us on air or AIOs. Additionally the Classified showed that there is loads of power available to it with some very high overclocks, albeit in “desktop screenshot” mode rather than actual benchmark. Which gives us hope for the future that the performance will be there once the voltage/temp issues are corrected.

Right now, today, in it’s current state, the EVGA Classified K is OK and it should be on a shortlist but we feel youre only likely to buy it if you have an EVGA GPU and want a matching system or have a hatred for the power 3 brands. However, it’s good enough in hardware terms to keep a very close eye on and if EVGA solve the problems then it could easily be amongst the best Z370 motherboards around.
