We have two different fan setups for the VRM temperature testing. The “Stock Fan Setup” is very much the way that you’d build a system, with intakes, exhausts, but everything generally where you’d expect. The other setup .. well the last word is everywhere, so you win no prizes for guessing the rest. FFE set includes direct fans on the VRM heatsinks and even one round the back of the board pointed at the socket and yes it made a massive difference to stability with the manual OC and this is a spot that definitely needs more cooling than it obviously requires as there doesn’t appear to be a temperature monitor there and it took a fair bit of head scratching to work out why our overclock was failing when all the temperatures looked stable. Still, with good and careful cooling the Aorus Extreme can get it done.
