Gigabyte X570S Aero G Preview
Up Close – Overview
The Gigabyte X570S Aero G is their Vision range by another name. Why exactly they’ve chosen to instantly rename their creator based product range is something we don’t understand, especially as the X570S retains the Aorus Master name for maximum confusion. Vision at least gave us visions – ha – of creation, whereas Aero either makes us think of race cars or airflow. Hmm.
Within the box you find, as well as the motherboard itself, a WiFi antenna, G connector, 2 thermistor cables, four SATA cables, RGB LED extension cable, noise detection cable and the all important M.2 screws for your new speedy storage.
The design is very similar to the Vision that came before it too, although with a much smoother heatsink design. It’s almost like the designers produced a foamcore demo and that was carried over to the final product. We like the simplicity of the aesthetics although it remains to be seen how effective they are as heatsinks.
Beneath the swooping heatsink design is 12 phase 60A CPU VCore and 2 phase 50A CPU SOC power design, so there should be plenty to keep your Ryzen CPU power demands sated.
The bottom side has a very sleek graph paper style design on the M.2 heatsinks in the centre, with regular Gigabyte style ones either side of it. Like all aesthetic things the beauty will be in the eye of the beholder, but we don’t mind it at all.
Here you can see the underside of the aforementioned heatsinks. We’re sure Gigabyte know what they’re doing but there seems to be surprisingly little surface area beneath those swooping curves.
Let’s move on to taking a closer look at the various elements.
