Gigabyte Z270X Ultra Gaming

Introduction

There have been a few Gigabyte motherboard types in recent years, from the Sniper range through the Gaming type, all of which have had varying degrees of success. With the release of the Z270 chipset Gigabyte have consolidated their wide range into a more easily digestible format – namely a selection of Gaming motherboards ranging from the very affordable all the way up through the 7 and 9 until we reach today’s model, the Ultra Gaming.

As you can see from the image at the top of the page this is a motherboard which definitely follows the modern theme of providing an all black design and letting the user express their individuality through their lighting choices. It’s an idea which has quickly gained traction until it is now the default way to manufacture a motherboard, with the all white offerings being the only real alternative.

So what makes the Ultra Gaming special?

Technical Specifications

If you have only a cursory glance through the specifications it appears very similar to all the other Z270 motherboards that we’re showing you today. This is partly because the latest Intel chipset has so much included on it that is worthy of shouting about that it’s hard to really add to it. However, the Gigabyte Z270X Ultra Gaming has a few tricks up its sleeve including full PCI Express bracket armour, Intel Thunderbolt 3 support, Gigabytes take on the ever popular RGB which includes swappable overlays, and hybrid fan headers so you don’t need to worry about the header nearest your fan not supporting the type of fan you wish to plug in.
