The key features of the FI27Q-X are definitely the 240Hz IPS panel with 10-bit QHD resolution. HDR 400 is very much the bottom end of the HDR certification. Think of it like the first “HD Ready” TVs that appeared. It’s handy to have, but you definitely shouldn’t consider it as the deal maker. The addition of Freesync is much more important to your image quality.

  

Colour accuracy is a drum we will never stop banging. Admittedly our own requirements bias us in this way, but it isn’t merely in photo accuracy or video grading that you can feel the benefits of the full colour space. Your games will thank you too, even the non HDR ones (which are most of them, let’s be honest).

  

Getting a 1440 resolution @ 240Hz certainly will test the bandwidth of your connection method, although we think your GPU will be tested more attempting to fully utilise that. Perhaps Resident Evil 2 or things with the graphics of a mobile phone such as Fortnite can hit such heights, but you’re hardly likely to get 240 FPS in Gears 5 @ 1440P.

  

These on screen crosshair/black equalizer features have always felt gimmicky to us, but we know that they can truly make the difference if you’re the type of person who plays competitive shooters for 99% of your time gaming. The FI27Q-X has them if you want, although they’re easy enough to leave alone if you don’t.

  
  

Much more usefully the Aorus FI27Q-X has built in dashboard so that you can monitor all your key system values whilst blowing your enemy to tiny bits.
