One RX480 good. Two RX480s better. Whereas the reference card looked like almost any other Radeon of recent times, the ASUS Strix goes all in with their top of the range DirectCU III cooler and AURA lighting. The triple fan cooler looks gorgeous, and is guaranteed to keep the temperatures well under control.

The introduction of backplates as a regular feature a year or so ago really helps the looks of the card, particularly as the reverse is the side we see the most through the windows of our towers.

The card looks fantastic, with fat heatpipes and plenty of ventilation holes. What you really want is to see them in situ and in our graphics card test rig they look superb.

We’re using white here just because it fits in with the theme of our test system, and there is no doubt that the pair of Crossfire RX480s look the part. The question on everyones lips is whether they have the performance to match.
