Dark Souls 3 PC Performance Review

4K Testing with AMD R9 Fury X and Nvidia GTX 980Ti

At 4K we can finally give our GTX 980Ti and our R9 Fury X a proper workout, with the game finally delivering workloads that are intensive enough to make the game drop below 60FPS at even low settings.

While the game is pretty playable at low settings with the R9 Fury X and GTX 980Ti, the game is always played best at a steady and high framerate, leaving us recommending that you either turn down your game resolution for a more stable playing experience.

Here we can see that Nvidia has the clear performance lead in Dark Souls 3, with the Nvidia GTX 980Ti having much higher minimum and average framerates, maintaining an average of 30FPS or above at all times.
