Quickly running through some of the controls available on the on-screen display. There are many. You can use the MSI 271QRX as a KVM platform, letting you control multiple devices with a single keyboard and mouse. Great if you stream and utilise a laptop for part of your show.
As you would expect from any monitor the MSI OLED has a host of gaming modes. Most of them ramp contrast and brightness to extremes. There is no replacement for time spent calibrating it yourself. Although this isn’t unique to the MSI here. All monitors are like this.
It did make us laugh to see the anti-blue light mode under the professional sub-heading. Imagine trying to get accurate colours – something the MSI panel does well – whilst having low blue light on. It’s a strange placement.
The next three pages will be familiar to anyone who has ever touched their monitors OSD. The first page in particular is important to fine tune depending upon your environment. How bright or contrasted the image is relates to the brightness of your room.
If there is a feature you use a lot you can assign it to the 5 way joystick for easy adjustment.
Lastly, the big problem with OLED displays is burn in. Technology has advanced greatly in this area, and the MSI 271QRX QD-OLED has many computer specific options. At the very least this, allied to the 3 year warranty, should allow you to buy without fear.
