MSI MAG 322URX QD OLED Review

Up Close

It makes us chuckle that sales people always talk about the depth of the blacks when it comes to OLED panels. Ask anyone who’s seen one, and apparently that includes the artist for the MSI MAG 322URX QD-OLED packaging, and they’ll talk about the eye-popping colour saturation.

32 inches is the perfect size for a 4K monitor. Big enough to fill your vision without requiring you to be sat 6 foot away from it. Such is the consistency of modern panel design that the MSI looks, from the front, like so many. Slender bar at the bottom with the MSI brand on it, otherwise little to see when it’s off. That’s okay though, we don’t mind a black mirror.

Within the stand there is a cut-out to enable you to route your cables neatly. With as many connection options as the 322URX has, we’re keen on a cable management option being built in.

Another look at the back panel. This angle really shows off the many different forms of black on the back. Brushed, textured, carbon and polished, the MAG 322URX QD-OLED has them all.

There is software you can use to control things if you want, but with the fully-featured OLED option a 5 way joystick is always handy. The placement of the one on this monitor is easy to reach, and you get clear tactile feedback that you’re going the right way. The placement of the power button is very close by, so watch those fingers.

Connectivity is very serious. Any monitor capable of doing 240Hz @ 4K resolution requires masses of bandwidth. Fortunately the DisplayPort 2.1a and HDMI 2.1 both have more than enough bandwidth to cope. You also get 2 Type-A USB ports, the Type-B which connects the 322URX to your PC, and a 98W Type-C. Lovely.

It isn’t just actors and singers on Ozempic who feel that thin is king, the MSI 322URX QD-OLED follows all OLED panels by being surprisingly svelte.

Even with our giant lamps shining at it, you can see how good the anti-reflective coating on the 322URX is. Top stuff, should you happen to be in an overly-windowed office or bedroom.
