Up Close

As part of the MSI Gaming range the GTX970 comes in a box replete with their Dragon logo. The card itself has moved away from the Gaming design of old and into the new X99-a-like of black with red slashes through it. Certainly if you’re planning to use one of the latest MSI motherboards then it will fit in perfectly.

We will be taking a closer look at the new Twin Frozr V on the next page, but if you’re interested here it is in all its exploded glory. A VRM plate, some serious heatpipes and two enormous fans should pique your interest.

Small things such as the reversed power connectors with the latch on the top side of the card help reduce the strain on the PCI Express slot when removing the card for the right-handed members amongst you.

It’s certainly a very good looking card, and it’s nice to see that the height is slightly below that of a normal dual-slot cooling solution, ensuring better airflow in SLI applications.
